A North York man has died after police say his ATV rolled on top of him on Saturday, just south of Beaverton.
According to Durham Regional Police, the 53-year-old was driving the ATV along Thorah Concession Road 2 in Brock Township, when the rider made a U-turn.
It was at this time that police say the ATV struck the edge if the roadway, causing the vehicle to roll into a deep ditch. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Concession Road 2 was closed for several hours while police investigated. It has since reopened.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
