It’s being called a ‘one-time’ funding but on Friday the financially strapped Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare was given $1.5 million from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

The money for the Bracebridge and Huntsville hospitals will help balance the budget for this fiscal year, which wraps up at the end of March.

Without the funding, the changing hospital funding would have left the Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare in the red.

The hospitals have been told they have to find ways to cut costs.

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare has been presenting different option for the hospitals in Muskoka but many residents don’t want to see any changes in services.
