A member of the military based at Borden is facing criminal charges Friday, accused of potentially putting children in danger.

CTV News has learned that the military police arrested and charged a member of the forces at a home on Base Borden this week.

Very little is being shared about the circumstances of the arrest, but court documents obtained by CTV News show the military member and one other person are charged for allegedly abandoning two young children.

According to the documents, military police arrested Private Bobby Kozak and Kerry Kozak on Sunday.

They are accused of abandoning two children under the age of ten, in what is believed to be their vehicle. They’re both accused of potentially putting the children in danger.

Each of them faces four charges including, abandoning a child and criminal negligence causing bodily harm. The military says the Children’s Aid Society has been notified of the case, but they’ve said nothing about the condition of the children.

Both of the accused appeared in bail court this week and have been released. The allegations have not been proven in court and both of the accused will be back before a judge in Barrie on August 17th.
