Firefighters were forced to fight a massive fire on Friday afternoon in Innisfil.

Fire crews were called to a home on Mapleview Drive between Warnica Avenue and Orchard Avenue just after 3:30 p.m.

Innisfil Fire Chief Jon Pegg tells CTV Newsa mom and child were inside one home and a man was in the other. All of them were able to get out safely.

Pegg says they have no idea what caused the fire.

All four Innisfil fire stations were called to the scene to fight the fire.

Pegg says it was difficult to fight the fire since there were no hydrants in the area and they had to shuttle in water. Barrie Fire has been helping by using five of their tanker trucks to bring in water.

Bradford and Essa firefighters were called in cover the Innisfil stations.
