A pub in Whitchurch-Stouffville is closing in on their second world record.

The Earl of Whitchurch Pub started their quest to break a world record on St. Patrick’s Day and has since claimed one for the "Longest Live Concert Streamed Over the Internet".

On Sunday the pub broke the official record of 370 hours set in Las Vegas for the “Longest Concert,” but there’s been a complication.

AJ’s Café, a Detroit coffee shop, claims it took the title late last month after hosting 390 hours of continuous music.

“We were going for, you know the record to beat Vegas. We have won and lost this three times. We didn't find out about the Whitchurch’s effort until February," says AJ O’Neil.

When York Region organizers learned about the Detroit effort they decided to extend the concert until Tuesday night. Officials say this will definitely secure them the record.

"It's a dreamlike state right now. I mean it's been like 20 hour, 22 hour days for most of the committee to pull this off. Everyone has really pulled together, and worked really hard on it,” says Whitchurch organizer Kevin Kerr.

By the end of Tuesday, the pub will have hosted 19 days or 432 hours’ worth of music, which featured more than 450 bands.

The pub’s efforts have also raised more than $90,000 for 17 charities.
