Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP have issued a warning about coyotes possibly being in the area.
The warning comes after police received a complaint on Wednesday that a small dog was taken by what’s believed to be a coyote from a back yard on Chamberlain Crescent.
Police are reminding the public not to approach, feed or attempt to tame coyotes. Residents are asked to secure garbage, minimize attractants on their property and use deterrents and fences to keep coyotes away from your home.
Pet owners are urged to keep their pets on leashes or confined to a yard.
