The Orillia Fire Department says the suspected cause of the fire at the Boston Pizza on Friday was electrical.

Just before 5 p.m. Friday, flames were shooting out of the building. A driver passing by saw the flames and called the fire department.

Staff inside had no idea there was a fire in the roof. There were no flames or smoke inside the restaurant.

Orillia Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Kirk tells CTV News the suspected cause of the fire is electrical and it did start in the tower portion of the roof. The fire is not suspicious

Damage is estimated between $25,000 and $50,000.

The restaurant was closed on Saturday.
