Two people are in hospital after being stabbed in the head with a screwdriver in Cookstown.

According to South Simcoe Police, a teenage girl was involved in an altercation with three other people outside Master Burger on King Street on Tuesday night.

Police say the youth ended up stabbing the three people with a screwdriver.

A 17-year-old boy and a 21-year-old woman were sent to hospital with puncture wounds and cuts to their heads. A 15-year-old girl was treated at the scene.

Investigators were able to view video of the attack and identified the suspect. The 15-year-old Cookstown girl was arrested a short time later for weapons dangerous, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

The identity of the accused is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police say this wasn’t a random attack and that everyone knew each other.
