Police in Vaughan are looking for the public’s help identifying a suspect who robbed a gas station at gunpoint.

According to York Regional Police, a man entered the gas station located in the area of Highway 27 and Highway 7 on Saturday, at around 2 a.m.

Police say the man produced a handgun and demanded cigarettes and money. The clerk complied and handed over a quantity of cash. No was injured in the robbery.

The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene on foot. Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate him.

The suspect is described as a white male, who may have an Italian accent, and short dark hair. He was last seen wearing a white cloth over his face, a black shirt and black pants.
