One man is dead, and another is in custody, as OPP investigate a homicide in the town of Huntsville.

At about 8:30 Thursday night police responded to reports of an assault at a residence along Aspdin Road. They arrived to find a 45 year-old injured man at the home. He was rushed to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The deceased has been identified as Michel Earl of Huntsville.

Another man, 42 year-old Charles Hayhoe of Huntsville, has been arrested and charged with second degree murder.  Police say the two men did know each other.

Hayhoe remains in custody, pending a bail hearing scheduled for April 18th in Bracebridge.

A post mortem was scheduled for Saturday.

Police remained at the residence on Friday and Saturday, processing the scene. The investigation is on-going.
