One person has been charged, following an assault in downtown Barrie where a man was allegedly tossed through a window.

Police say at around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, two men got into an altercation near Smoke’s Poutinerie in the area of Maple Street and Dunlop Street.

According to investigators, one man threw another man through a store window during the incident. Officers say that injuries were thought to be life-threatening, but were downgraded after the man underwent surgery.

A 27-year-old Queensville man has been charged with aggravated assault.

The accused will appear in a Barrie court at a future date.
