A man who was stabbed in the stomach yesterday remains in Barrie hospital in intensive care.
The 20-year-old was stabbed in the left side of his stomach Monday near downtown Barrie outside 24 Ross St., police say. He left the building through the back door to walk his dog when he was approached by a 21-year-old man.
The stabbing happened between the two rooming houses on Ross Street. He was taken to RVH with serious injuries, where he is still recovering.
Barrie Const. Melanie Turner says the suspect is a white male with shaved, brown hair, a black jacket with a fur hood, blue jeans, black shoes with green laces, and a tattoo on his upper chest of a hammer and sickle.
Officers are looking for witnesses and are seeking a warrant for the suspect.
