A Bracebridge, Ont. lawyer is filing a class-action lawsuit against the province and the Ministry of Natural Resources in the wake of recent flooding.

Lawyer Michael-Anne MacDonald says she represents property owners along the north and south Muskoka River, Mirror Lake and the Indian River.

She claims the province and the MNR were negligent for failing to properly manage the waterways.

The MNR says it has not officially been served with any action of claim.

The government has to be notified of the class-action lawsuit within 60 days of filing, and the lawsuit must be filed within six months.
