Charges have been laid after a man allegedly showed up at a Barrie home with a knife and demanded a debt be repaid.

According to Barrie police, the two men visited a home on Shelly Lane on Sunday night in search of a woman who owed them money.

One man allegedly brandished a knife and threatened the person who opened the door. Police say the debt is believed to be drug related.

After a brief argument, the two men left. No one was hurt during the dispute.

Officer later located the suspect that had the knife at a home on Eden Drive. The 22-year-old was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and failing to comply with probation.

He was held for a bail hearing on Monday.
