Lights, camera, action!

Students at Orillia Secondary are learning the ropes of what it takes to put on a broadcast with a new production called Nighthawk TV.

“First run, you’re always going to have glitches and mess-ups.  But I’m feeling confident that the first one is out of the way, so we’re gonna be better than we were today,” says a producer of Nighthawk TV, Connor Earl.

The students will use the platform to deliver the daily announcements every two weeks with their sights on adding sports videos and stories from around the school.

“A lot of schools are doing it around the region, and we figured, why not do it, and it was a success,” says Earl.

The student-driven production is complete with student anchors, reporters and operators which their teacher says will give them experience and life skills for the future.
