Human remains found on Christian Island have now been identified as those of Wilfred Oscar Burnside, a realtor and teacher from Owen Sound.
Burnside went missing on November 7 after going on a flight in his small Cessna plane from Cornwall to Owen Sound. He was supposed to land at the airport in Owen Sound but never arrived.
The plane and its pilot were the subject of a ground, air, and water search that involved the Canadian Armed Forces, RCAF, Canadian Coast Guard, Ontario Provincial Police, and private citizens
Last year, small pieces of debris that belong to a Cessna aircraft were found along the shore in Tiny Township.
