A pilot project is bringing transit to a Muskoka town for the summer.

Called “The Loop,” the project will link Gravenhurst’s Wharf to the downtown over a six month period.

“It's a quick 30 minute loop around town and it will give people the opportunity to move around town,” says Mayor Paisley Donaldson.

The route makes use of the downtime for the Corridor 11 Bus that runs between Bracebridge and Orillia.

The Loop has 27 stops in Gravenhurst and runs Tuesday through Thursday, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

“Not necessarily to work in the morning and back again at night, but more from the perspective of getting people to the doctors’ appointments, pharmacy shopping centres, things like that,” says Scott Lucas, a town spokesperson.

Rides are free till the end of August then just $2. ---great news says "the loops" first passenger
