Five men from our region are facing drug related charges after a marijuana drug operation was raided by police in Innisfil.
South Simcoe Police say they conducted a search warrant at a home on Lockhart Road on Wednesday and uncovered a sophisticated outdoor marijuana grow operation.
Police say the marijuana had been planted in pots in a field surrounded by a high fence and away from public view with a numerous surveillance cameras on the property.
Over 400 large marijuana plants were seized with a street value of $500,000. Police also seized a small amount of dried product and growing equipment.
Two men from Innisfil, 34 & 40, a 23-year-old Orillia man, a 28-year-old Springwater man and a 25-year-old Alliston man have been charged with cultivation and possession of a controlled substance.
