There was disturbing testimony on Friday at the trial of Matthew Spring, who is facing a second-degree murder charge in the death of Bradley Hubbard.

Hubbard died after being stabbed in the neck at a mini-golf course in 2011.

Sean Elliot was playing on the glow-in-the dark mini putt course and testified Friday that he saw a shirtless Hubbard walk passed him hunched over and said he appeared injured.

Elliott told the court he followed Hubbard into the lobby and was looking for a first aid kit. Elliott testified that Hubbard said “Please help, I’ve been stabbed. Please call 9-1-1.”

The video shows Hubbard walking out of frame and Elliott testified that Hubbard had sat down on a chair and said “I think I’m going to die.”

Another witness who was playing on the course when the incident happened also testified Friday. Leah Zwiers told the court she heard a woman say “Stop breaking things and let us play golf.” She then said she heard a man respond “--- off.”

Zwiers also told the court she saw Hubbard pass her on the course bleeding and then heard a woman’s voice say “Those stupid punks just stabbed him”.

The defence is arguing Matthew Spring acted in self-defence.

The trial continues next week.
