A  Barrie Royal Canadian Air Cadets leader leader accused in a child pornography investigation has died.

A spokesperson for the Cadets confirms to CTV News that Collin Christopher Scott died on Feb. 2.  The 48-year-old was charged with child pornography offences, which stemmed from a January investigation.

The former Cadets leader was in charge of about 160 cadets between the ages of 12 and 18.

Scott was released on bail and was scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 18.
