Police in Kawartha Lakes are continuing to search for two missing canoeists on Pigeon Lake.
According to provincial police, three people went out onto the water on Sunday to retrieve a pedal boat that had drifted from shore. That’s when the OPP say the canoe capsized.
One person was able to make it back to shore. A 28-year-old woman from Halton Region and a 23-year-old man from Scarborough are still missing.
Police say none of the canoe occupants were wearing lifejackets.
Emergency crews searched Pigeon Lake on Sunday night. The OPP underwater search and recovery unit, along with a helicopter resumed the search on Monday morning.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
