South Simcoe Police and the Ministry of Transportation pulled fifteen commercial vehicles off the road during a safety blitz in Bradford Tuesday.

A total of 26 commercial vehicles were inspected with a 58 per cent failure rate. The vehicles were removed from service until repairs could be made.

Most of the violations were for brake deficiencies, load security or equipment and paperwork violations.

"It's the responsibility of every driver to make sure his or her vehicle is in proper working order before venturing out", said Traffic Sergeant Lou DaSilva. "We're trying to prevent collisions before they happen by eliminating unsafe vehicles from our communities."

Police and the MTO laid 30 charges and issued 19 cautions.
