People in New Tecumseth can pay off their parking tickets with the donation of a toy.
The township has been accepting new, unwrapped toys all week long through the Toys for Tickets program. The parking tickets had to have been issued between Nov. 17 and Dec. 1.
The only catch is that the toy must be of equal value or exceed the cost of the parking ticket. Proof of purchase and the original packaging is required.
All donations will be given to kids through the Alliston Lions Club’s annual Christmas hamper program and My Sister’s Place.
The toys can be dropped off at the Town Administration Centre, located at 10 Wellington St. E. in Alliston until Friday.
The Town of Innisfil ran a similar program called the Scrooge the Ticket initiative.
