York Regional Police say a man was electrocuted at an industrial site in Vaughan.
Const. Laura Nicolle says officers were called to the area of Highway 7 and Dufferin Street at around 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to PowerStream, the 25-year-old accidently came into contact with overhead hydro lines, while using a piece of excavation equipment to dig holes for new poles. The man worked as a contractor for PGC Service.
Nicolle says the man was rushed to hospital, but was later pronounced dead.
Ontario’s Ministry of Labour is now investigating.
