Barrie Police were called to a Bayfield Street carwash on Saturday because a car was stuck in a snowbank, blocking the entrance.
Officers say the car was running and in gear, and an unconscious 30-year-old man was in the driver’s seat.
Police woke him and found that he was intoxicated.
They also determined the man had been involved in a minor crash moments earlier and had failed to remain at the scene.
He was transferred to the Barrie Police Service where he blew over 4 ½ times the legal limit.
He was released with a future court date.
