CTV Barrie’s Toy Mountain wraps up for another year

Friday marked the final day of CTV Barrie’s Toy Mountain toy drive in support of the Children’s Aid Society (CAS) of Simcoe County.

And until the last minute on Friday, our lobby at 33 Beacon Road was overflowing with toys.

It’s been one of the most successful years ever for our Toy Mountain campaign – partly because we gave you more ways to be part of it.

Our Drive-Thru Toy Drop-Off at the Barrie Molson Centre on December 17^th was a big hit, collecting an entire trailer load of toys.

Then there were the groups, companies and individuals who took it upon themselves to get into the spirit of giving – including one donation from Link Line Natural Gas in Vaughan who dropped off a large donation on Friday.

In all, about 800 families will benefit from your donations – including 2,000 children.

And while we don’t have an exact count yet, CAS believes Toy Mountain brought in more than 8,000 toys this year.
