Truckloads of toys were dropped off at the first ever CTV Barrie Drive-Thru Toy Drop-Off for Toy Mountain on Wednesday night.
Dozens of people made their way the Barrie Molson Centre parking lot to make their donation to the Children’s Aid Society (CAS) of Simcoe County.
Because of our very generous viewers, we managed to nearly fill a Barrie Police trailer with brand new toys for CAS.
“It’s a big difference; they make a world of hope and chance for the kids. They give families a bit of cheer,” says Sandy Jacklin from CAS.
Police officers and firefighters were also on hand to help collect toys.
“We work hand-in-hand with the Children’s Aid Society throughout the year. This is a great way to give back and help them,” said OPP Constable Graeme Knox.
“It’s well worth us standing out here in the cold, knowing we’re going to put smiles on the faces of kids on Christmas morning,” says Barrie Fire Chief John Lynn.
Thousands of kids across our region will now get to unwrap gifts on Christmas thanks to our generous viewers with big hearts.
