Athanasiou signs with the Detroit Red Wings

Barrie Colts left winger Andreas Athanasiou has signed a three-year entry level contract with the Detroit Red Wings.

Athanasiou is leading the Colts in scoring with 26 points in 22 games so far this season.

A fourth-round pick (110^th overall) of Detroit in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Athanasiou has appeared in 206 OHL game with Barrie and London, totaling 152 points and 103 penalty minutes.
