Police are looking for a woman whomade off with $20,000 worth of gift cards from the Tanger Outlet Mall.

Police say on Wednesday a woman pretending to be a lawyer with a prestigious Toronto law firm called the mall to inquire about purchasing $20,000 in gift cards as a corporate giveway.

She was instructed to attend with a bank draft in order to make such a large purchase.

Later that same day, police say a woman posing as the assistant of a lawyer went to the mall and gave them what appeared to be a legitimate bank draft and identification. She was then given the gift cards.

By the time the bank draft was rejected by the bank, the suspect had made $11,000 in purchases from the gift cards.

Police say they will use the mall’s video surveillance to try and identify the suspect.
