Two youths haves been arrested for allegedly vandalizing an Orillia school last week.

Provincial police were called to Harriett Todd Public School on Friday after receiving numerous reports of someone spray painting vulgar graffiti all over the school’s property.

Officer did a search of the area and arrested two young girls near the school. The two 16-year-olds have been charged with mischief and have since been released into their parent’s custody.

“I couldn’t believe it. I was shocked,” says Tiffany Robertson. “We walked the whole school area and I took pictures because I couldn’t believe it.”

Parents and students of Harriett Todd spent most of Monday scrubbing and power washing away the graffiti. The group came together after photos of the vandalism were shared on social media.

The group estimates that thousands of dollars worth of damage was done to the school.

The two teens will appear before a youth court at a future date.
