Provincial police say a newly licensed motorist was “hot off the road test” on Sunday when an officer conducted a traffic stop.

The officer with the Nottawasaga OPP detachment allegedly clocked the new G driver speeding 106 kilometres per hour along Industrial Parkway in the Town of New Tecumseth, which is a posted 60 km/h zone.

“Guess they skipped the part where ‘G’ doesn’t stand for ‘Go Fast!,’” OPP stated in a social media post regarding the incident.

The motorist from Alliston faces a stunt driving charge, which carries heavy penalties, including six demerit points, a minimum $2,000 fine and increased insurance rates.

Additionally, the charge has an automatic vehicle impoundment and licence suspension.
