Provincial police say one person is dead and two other injured critically after a multi-vehicle crash near Barrie, Ont.
Police say the collision involving five vehicles happened on County Road 53, between Carson and Sunnidale roads, northeast of Barrie.
Images from the scene shared by OPP on social media show heavily damaged vehicles scattered around a snow-covered two lane road.
Police have not identified the victim or said what caused the crash.
The crash caused a road closure for a short period, but roads were reopened later in the afternoon.
A snow squall warning was in effect for the area where the crash occurred Monday.
Environment Canada is warning about the possibility of sudden near-zero visibility in some areas.
