A man is alive after a crash along Highway 400 last night thanks to some passersby .
Emergency crews were at the scene of a fiery collision on Highway 400 and Quarry Road in Waubaushene last night.
Just before 9 p.m. Aug. 23, a car heading north on Highway 400 took the off-ramp at Quarry Road and left the road, hitting a rock cut.
Good Samaritans driving by then jumped into action.
"The driver was still seated in the vehicle with his seatbelt on while the car was burning,” says Southern Georgian Bay OPP Const. Marko Harjupanula. The passersby “took off his seatbelt and pulled him out.”
Harjupanula says the car was fully engulfed in flames shortly they pulled the man out, “so they definitely saved his life.”
