If you’re dreaming of a white Christmas, you might just be in luck.

Environment Canada issued two weather warnings for our region: one Snowfall Warning, and the second a Weather Advisory for Monday.

Significant snowfall is expected Monday afternoon through the night.

The national weather agency is calling for total snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 centimetres, with peak snowfall rates of two to three centimetres per hour.

Drivers are reminded there could be poor visibility in areas of heavy snow.

Snowfall Warning regions:

  • Barrie, Collingwood and Hillsdale
  • Bracebridge, Gravenhurst
  • Huntsville, Lake of Bays
  • Midland, Coldwater, Orr Lake
  • Orillia, Lagoon City, Washago
  • Port Carling, Port Severn
  • Parry Sound, Rosseau and Killbear Park

Environment Canada has also issued a Weather Advisory for central Ontario, where snowfall accumulations are expected to be between 10 to 15 cms.

Snow is expected to begin Monday morning and continue to increase over night.

The weather agency cautions drivers to expect quickly changing and deteriorating conditions as the day progresses.

  • Newmarket, Georgina, Northern York Region
  • Orangeville, Grand Valley, Southern Dufferin County
