A traffic complaint led to impaired driving charges for one man, days before Christmas.

After receiving a call about a possibly impaired driver, Dufferin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) pulled over a car in Grand Valley at 10 p.m. Saturday.

Police commenced a roadside test and determined the 36-year-old Grand Valley man had an 80-plus blood-alcohol level.

He was charged with impaired driving offences, including both alcohol and drugs, as well as possessing unmarked cigarettes and driving with open alcohol in the car.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. His driver's licence was suspended, and vehicle was impounded.

If you suspect someone is driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol call 911. If you have information about suspected unlawful activity, please contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
