Charges have been dropped against two of the three men who were arrested after a death at a Barrie mini-putt centre two years ago.

Jake Workman, 20, and Justin Spring, 21, who are both from Innisfil, were charged with second-degree murder.  But the Crown Attorney told court today she reviewed details from the file, and determined there was no reasonable chance for convictions.  The charges against the two were withdrawn.

A lawyer representing Workman told CTV News today that Workman is “happy and relieved”.

The lawyer declined further comment, citing the fact that the case remains before the courts.

The second-degree murder charge against Matthew Spring, 20, remains; he is back in court in Newmarket Dec. 2.

The case stems from the death of Bradley Hubbard, 42, of Collingwood at a mini putt centre in south Barrie in August 2011.

Hubbard died after being struck in the throat with a golf club following an altercation.
