CFB Borden is getting a face lift thanks to the federal government.

At a news conference on Monday morning, Associate Minister of National Defence, Julian Fantino, announced $22.5 million for new infrastructure and upgrades.

The money will be used to construct a larger ammunition transit facility, along with upgrades to military housing and quarters.

The federal money is part of the $452 million the Department of National Defence received for infrastructure repairs and upgrades across the country.

Construction of the new facility will occur sometime this year, with an estimated completion date of 2017.
