A hearing that could establish new rules for large events at Burl's Creek has been extended.

The Ontario Municipal Board hearing has been adjourned temporarily and will resume once more dates are set.

The hearing is trying to determine if parts of the Oro-Medonte event park should be re-zoned to allow larger events.

Opponents say allowing two big music festivals at the site to use more of the land is a mistake, but supporters argue the festivals and nearby farmers can coexist.

Without new dates for the hearing to finish, it's unclear what the exact rules will be governing the summer festivals.
