York Regional Police have arrested 27-year-old Jason Hay in connection with the Moka Café and Expresso Bar murders in Woodbridge in June.

Police say they arrested Hay on Highway 400 in Barrie this afternoon.

Investigators located Hay in a vehicle that was travelling north on Highway 400 between Mapleview Drive and Essa Road.

Officers proceeded in a high-risk take down and have taken Hay into custody.

Hay faces two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.

A woman who was driving the vehicle was also taken into custody and faces accessory after the fact and breach of recognizance charges

On June 24, four people were shot at the Moka Café in the area of Islington Avenue and Highway 7. Two victims were pronounced dead on scene.

The investigation is on-going and police say more charges may be laid.

The Highway 400 between Mapleview Drive and Essa Road has reopened.
