Barrie police are investigating after two stolen vehicles went up in flames.

On Tuesday evening, emergency crews were called to Salem Road after a minivan was found engulfed in flames. An investigation was launched and police determined the van had been stolen from a home in Barrie.

Several hours later, crews were called to a Mac’s Convenience store on Dunlop Street West at around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday after a car was seen on fire.

Investigators determined the fire had been intentionally set in the back seat.

According to police, the car had been stolen in Owen Sound and had been involved in a theft at a gas station in Wasaga Beach.

At this point, police say they haven’t been able to link the two incidents.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators or Crime Stoppers.
