The saying goes ‘good things come to those who wait’ and two seniors from Orillia proved that on Sunday.

Tim Dawson, 84,  and Kathleen Reynolds, 80,  met last spring when they moved in to the same long-term care facility and the rest is history.

"That's the one I was looking for,” said Dawson affectionately. “That’s her, Kathleen."

Luckily, she felt the same way.

"He is a very handsome man,” said Reynold. “He is a dear little fellow. He is very loving and he's very kind and we get along very well."

Leacock Care Centre hosted the wedding on Sunday.

"The romance kind of started with him teasing her and next thing you know she's teasing him back,” said Life Enrichment Coordinator Debbie Allen. “Next thing you know they’re holding hands and they come in and say they're in love and want to get married."

Reynolds’ sister Anna Smith calls the marriage a miracle.

"She was lonely…he was lonely…I mean, I'm a window myself and you are lonely. It's precious to see the way the two of them came together."

Their paths crossed at the right time, proving it's never too late to find true love.
