The Talisman Resort in Grey Highlands was once Ontario’s largest ski resort before it closed five years ago and now the resorts first attraction under new owners is open to the public.

After years of neglect the greens are once again ready for golfers.

"It was a little jewel and it's going to become a little jewel," said Gerry Weatherhead, who is one of many golfers pleased to see the nine hole course open again.

In 2011, the Talisman was closed; millions of dollars were owed – including back taxes. The new owners bought it for approximately $1.8 million.

Crews have been busy restoring the buildings and grounds.

The golf course is still a work in progress with the new clubhouse is currently under construction. It's expected to open in a few weeks.

Renovations are still being done in the hotel facilities which the owners hope to have complete in 2017.
