A man suffered life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in the back with a steak knife early Sunday morning.

Barrie Police were called a home on Mary Street around 5:00 a.m, for what they described as a domestic incident.

When officers arrived they found a 54-year-old man who had been stabbed in the back with a steak knife.

The man was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto with life-threatening injuries.

He has since stabilized and is expected to make a full recovery.

Police have charged the man’s 54-year-old wife with aggravated assault. She is being held in custody for a bail hearing.
