Some people prefer a church for a wedding, others city hall, but a Barrie couple is hoping to score a blue and white ceremony at the Air Canada Centre.

Ashley Watson and Lindsay Wilson of Barrie are amongst 10 final couples looking to win a center ice wedding, before the Toronto Maple Leafs face off against the San Jose Sharks on March 19.

“Saturday nights we stay in and watch Leafs games. It's what we do, we throw on the jerseys and cheer for them,” says Wilson.

Since the Maple Leafs most likely won’t be hosting the Stanley Cup at centre ice this year, the couple is hoping they may win their own celebration at the ACC. Watson says she saw a link pop up on Facebook, so she applied.

“We honestly looked at it once we applied and did not give it another thought,” she says.

The couple has been engaged since last summer and were originally considering a destination wedding, but that has become their second choice.

“We met playing hockey on our ball hockey team. It would be incredible… make everything come together,” says Wilson.

It now falls on Leafs Nation to vote for a winner. To view entries and to cast a ballot, you can visit the contest`s website.
