A spokesperson for the OLG told CTV News the winning ticket for last night's Lotto Max draw was validated in Wasaga Beach on Saturday morning.

The winning ticket was bought around 8 p.m. Friday night by a man in his 40’s at the Corner Market convenience store in the RiverEnd Plaza.

The owner of the store, who sold the ticket to the man, says he is regular and buys tickets from that store all the time.

“He was actually very, very excited,” said Corner Market owner Armenak Kesheshian. “He was breathing really, really heavily. It was an exciting day, because there were a few customers that had to wait in the line while we were waiting for the OLG to call. They didn't mind waiting. Everyone was excited for him.”

The winner now has to travel to OLG headquarters in Toronto to gather his winnings.

“They'll come down to our prize centre sometime this week,” said OLG’s Tony Bitoni. “We'll do a prize claim review process. We need to make sure that this person or a group of people are the actual ticket holders.”

Word of the huge win has spread quickly in Wasaga Beach, and we should all know who the winner is once he goes down to Toronto to claim his prize.
