Young driver clocked at nearly 100 km/hr over speed limit

A 21-year-old male driver was charged for travelling more than twice the speed limit in a community safety zone in Caledon on Sunday.

According to Caledon OPP, the G2 driver from Brampton was travelling 152 kilometres per hour in a posted 60 community safety zone on Mayfield Road near Dixie Road.

The driver was charged with stunt driving – excessive speed, and was served a roadside 30-day licence suspension and 14-day vehicle impound.

He is scheduled for a future court date to answer to these charges.
