Provincial police say a G2 driver faces serious charges after being clocked speeding more than double the posted limit in the Township of New Tecumseth over the weekend.

In a post on social media, the OPP called the accused a “rookie driver” who was clocked travelling 103 kilometres per hour in a posted 50km/h area on Industrial Parkway.

Police used the incident to issue a reminder to all motorists about the dangers of speeding.

“Speed kills. Slow down and arrive alive, don’t let a few second cost you everything,” the OPP stated.

The G2 driver was charged with speeding, stunt driving and failing to surrender their licence.
