Barn Burner Charity Hockey

The puck drops for the Boots and Hearts Barn Burner charity hockey game hosted by Mayor Alex Nuttall on August 7, 2024, at the Sadon Arena in Barrie.

The all-star charity game raises money to support local organizations, including the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the John Tavares Foundation's programs for kids, PIE Education, and the Rotary Club.

It features National Hockey League stars, including Toronto Maple Leafs captain John Tavares, Barrie Colts alumni and Calgary Flames left winger Andrew Mangiapane, Professional Women's Hockey League player Jill Saulnier and many more.

Last year's event raised more than $270,000 for local charities, with organizers hoping to surpass that milestone this year.

The charity hockey game runs from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
