An employee with the Town of Innisfil remains was rushed to hospital after he was injured on the job.

Police, paramedics and fire responded to the town’s public works yard on Innisfil Beach Road at 8:47 p.m. Wednesday.

According to South Simcoe Police, the man was injured at the public works yard. He was taken to Toronto trauma centre with head injuries where he remains in serious but stable condition.

The Ministry of Labour is investigating the events that caused the workplace injury. A spokesperson with the ministry told CTV News the employee was injured while guarding the operator of a loader.

The investigation continues.
