The opening of one of Barrie’s busiest streets has been delayed.
A section of Mapleview Drive East between Huronia Road and Country Lane was to open on Tuesday, but the city says they’ve had to delay it because of the amount of rain the region has seen.
The city now hopes to have Mapleview Drive open on Thursday.
The busy south end road has been closed for several weeks for the installation of a deep sanitary sewer.
However, this won’t be the end of traffic headaches. The city will close Huronia Road between Mapleview and Saunders Road on May 8 for the installation of a sanitary sewer.
The closure will be in place for about eight weeks.
